Walk Aerobics

If gentle exercise is what you are after, come in and join this group for exercise to a video. We have over 45's in mind for this one, but you're never too young to be healthy. Followed by a relaxing cup of tea.

Walking Group

This friendly group of mature-aged walkers meet at the Centre each Wednesday for a leisurely but lively jaunt around the streets of Lara. They then return for a warm or cool drink, a snack and a chat. Social outings are also a part of this group's agenda.

Craft & Chat

Join this lively bunch of ladies for a couple of hours of stitching and talking in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring a piece to work on or if you want to learn something new, there is always someone who can help you.

Classes in 2009

Term based classes typically run for 8 - 10 weeks on a weekday, weeknight or Saturday. Most classes run for around 2 hours per session and costs vary between free to $100, with courses providing certification often costing more. Please contact the Community Centre for dates, times and costs for each class.

Class Booking

To enrol for a class, please mail the enrolment form distributed to the residential area of Lara, or contact the Centre.

The Community Centre's policy for class bookings is as follows:

  • Bookings will not be confirmed until an enrolment form and deposit have been received. Credit card payments will be accepted over the phone.
  • If an enrolment form and deposit have not been received one week prior to the class start date, and there is a waiting list, that place int he class will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
  • Once payment and enrolment forms have been received, the enrolment is confirmed. There will be no further contact prior to the class commencing unless the class is cancelled or postponed due to low enrolments. Please remember to write class dates and times in your diary or on the calendar.
  • Where low enrolments necessitate cancellation of a class, any monies paid to the Centre will be refunded in full.
  • If a student fails to attend a class that is paid for, payment will be forfeited.
  • All class fees must be paid in full prior to the class commencing unless a prior arrangement has been made with the Centre Coordinator.

Payment

The Centre is now able to take credit card payments (VISA, Mastercard and Bankcard) in person or by phone, however EFTPOS is not available. Call (03) 5282 2725 to book your class.
